Job summary

Kits Care Staff Solution Ltd. is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for Sidney Care Home in Sidney, BC. You will assist with safe food preparation, portioning, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area to ensure residents are served timely and safely.

You will support the Chef/Cook, manage portions according to dietary needs, and participate in infection control meetings as required. A valid Food Safe Level One certification and vaccination proof are required.

Qualifications

• Must have secondary education (Grade 10).
• Valid Food Safe Handling Certificate Level One required.
• Proof of vaccination.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrates good time management.
• Flexibility; can work independently.
• Physically and mentally able to perform duties.
• Shows a caring and considerate attitude to residents, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized kitchen and storage area.
• Supports the Chef/Cook in the kitchen, ensuring snacks and meals are prepared and ready to serve on time.
• Helps direct portions to match preferences, allergies and dislikes.
• Maintains a log for fat traps maintenance and emptying.
• Ensures a safe, clean and secure kitchen and dining room environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
• Attends Infection Control meetings once every two months.

About Sidney Care Home

Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated. Sidney Care works in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, to ensure quality care to all of our clients.

What You’ll Do

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized kitchen and storage area
• Supports the Chef/Cook in the kitchen, so it runs to time with having snacks and meals prepared ready to serve
• Helps direct portions sizes are appropriated and requested taking into consideration likes, dislikes and allergies
• Maintains a log for the fat trap maintenance and emptying
• Ensures a safe, clean and secure environment in the kitchen and dining room for staff, residents and visitors
• Attends Infection Control meetings once every two months

What You Bring

• Graduate of secondary education (Grade 10)
• Valid Food Safe Handling Certificate Level One required
• Proof of vaccination
• Good written and verbal communication
