Job summary

Brockville General Hospital in Ontario is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support patients, cafeteria and catering services, under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor. The Dietary Aide will participate in Continuous Quality Improvement processes and work flexibly across day, afternoon, weekend and holiday shifts to ensure quality meals and safety in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
• Related experience in the food service industry.
• Current Food Handling Certification mandatory and maintained throughout employment.
• Food Service Worker Certificate preferred.
• Previous hospital or long-term care facility food service experience and knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred.

SALARY: $26.95 - $27.83/hour

HOURS: Variety of shifts including days, afternoons, weekends and holidays 0645-1445/1045-1845 (subject to change based on operational needs)

Position Summary:

Working under the general direction of the Food Service Supervisor, the Dietary Aide performs essential tasks needed to provide food for patients, cafeteria and catering functions. The Dietary Aide participates in Continuous Quality Improvement processes as a team member in assessing quality and making recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Related experience in the food service industry
• Current Food Handling Certification mandatory and maintained throughout employment
• Food Service Worker Certificate preferred
• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility food service environment and knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred
