Part Time
Salary Range: $27.66 - $27.86 /hour

We are an integrated team providing food and nutrition services to our patients and residents at all sites of St. Joseph's Health Care London. Our vision is to provide nutritional care that nourishes patients and residents' body, mind, and spirit. We support our community and the planet through menu components that include patient input, clinical requirements, budget, operations, and sustainability. Our initiatives include increasing local purchasing, growing seasonal vegetables on-site, composting, and reducing food waste. Our departments operate on varying shifts from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

Note: Hours of work are subject to change based on scheduling needs.

Essential Qualifications
  • Secondary (High) School Diploma
  • Safe Food Handlers certification or successful completion within six (6) months of hire
  • Knowledge of institutional food service and therapeutic diets
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Understanding of a Safety Culture in a Healthcare setting per OHSA standards
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, standing, walking, or lifting up to 28 kg
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment with minimal supervision
  • Teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French (asset)
  • Previous experience in food service
Teaching and Research

As part of its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College, St. Joseph's Health Care London is a leading research and teaching hospital. Employees are expected to participate in role-related teaching and research activities alongside clinical duties.

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19, and influenza
  • Provide documentation of Tuberculosis skin testing
