Job summary

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic individual to support kitchen operations and ensure quality service for clients, patients, and residents. Training will be provided and adherence to safety, hygiene, and facility guidelines is required.

The role includes food preparation, distribution of meals, and maintaining food safety standards. Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends is needed, with potential for certification updates during probation.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Must have valid G driver's license or able to obtain by date of hire.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred; otherwise obtained during probation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks.
• Able to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as schedule requires.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and distribution of patient meals, including transporting meal carts.
• Maintain food safety standards at all times.
• Knowledge of cash register operation is an asset.
• Flexibility to work shifts, mainly days and weekends.
• Adhere to infection control measures and wear PPE; attend training as necessary.

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to help support all kitchen operations to ensure quality service to all clients, patients, and residents. Dietary Aides follow requirements provided by dietary management and dietitians, and adheres to all policies and regulations for safety, hygiene and facility food preparation guidelines. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Must have valid G driver’s license or capable of completing upon date of hire.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a current Food Handler Certificate; otherwise, certification must be obtained during the probationary period.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks.
• Applicants must have the ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends depending on the schedule.

Job Duties:

• Food preparation and distribution of patient and resident meals including transportation of patient meal cart to and from patient care areas.
• Maintain food safety standards at all times.
• Knowledge operation of cash register an asset.
• Must have flexibility to work shifts as assigned, mainly days and weekends.
• Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures and attend training when necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Considerable walking, lifting, standing, pushing, pulling and bending.
• Frequently required to lift up to 30lbs.
