Job summary

City of Hamilton is seeking a Dietary Aide (Casual) to support food services at Macassa Lodge or Wentworth Lodge. You will load carts, deliver meals, assist with special functions, and help maintain a safe, clean food service area while following diet and nutrition guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a Food Service Worker Certificate, experience feeding large groups, and the ability to multitask in a healthcare kitchen. Flexible hours, 0–24 per week, and a strong team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess Food Service Worker Certificate from an established College or a registered private career college in Ontario or be enrolled in the program.
• Experience in preparing and serving food for large groups in a large-scale food service setting, preferably in healthcare.
• Must possess practical knowledge and skills related to preparing and serving food in institutional/healthcare settings.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 18 kg and working while standing for long periods.
• Must be a self-motivated, self-directed worker with ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Load re-therm carts with previously prepared and chilled food for re-therming.
• Assist in preparation of special functions and non-resident meals.
• Deliver prepared food to serving areas and serve meals.
• Train new dietary staff.
• Wash and disinfect tables, counters, utensils and equipment.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures.
