Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic’s Apprentice to join our team. You will work on engines, powertrain and electrical systems, with supervision from senior techs, and you will help prepare equipment for delivery and trade-ins.

Shift is Tuesday to Saturday, with differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental. Join us for a modern, well-equipped shop and ongoing training to advance your career.

Qualifications

• 2+ years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• Must be currently enrolled in an apprentice program.
• Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies.
• Will consider candidates with a 310S license or automotive background.
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
• Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in repair and diagnosis of engines, power train, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems with some supervision.
• Perform mechanical reconditioning of equipment for trade-ins and prepare new equipment for delivery.
• Identify parts required for repair of disassembled units and perform all levels of preventive maintenance.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair quality.
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances to ensure conformance to factory specs.
• Raise trucks and heavy parts using jacks or hoists and maintain shop safety.
