Job summary

Penske is seeking entry-level Diesel Technician I/III candidates to begin a career as diesel truck mechanics in Etobicoke, ON. This role offers hands-on learning, supervision by lead technicians, and opportunities to advance within Penske’s service network.

As an apprentice, you will gain practical experience with preventive maintenance, component repairs, and use of shop technology while earning a competitive wage and shift premiums.

Qualifications

• 1-2 year’s practical experience with vehicle repair or truck repair preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
• Must be currently enrolled in an apprentice program.
• Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Remove, replace or adjust brakes, fifth wheel, minor electrical repairs, cab components and accessories under supervision.
• Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained.
• Assist with removal, replacement, and repair of major components under supervision.
• All customer service duties as necessary.
• Maintain work area appearance and safety.
• Use hand tools and power tools as required during maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts using jacks or hoists.
