Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Canada Inc. is seeking entry-level Diesel Technician III candidates to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

You will perform basic repairs under supervision, assist with component replacement, and gain exposure to major maintenance tasks using modern tools and technology. Qualifications

  • 1-2 year's practical experience with vehicle repair or truck repair preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an apprentice program.
  • Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies.
  • Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required.
  • Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to travel within the district as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, replace or adjust brakes, fifth wheel, minor electrical repairs, cab components and accessories, minor trailer maintenance.
  • Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained.
  • Perform other mechanical repairs and replacements under supervision as part of training.
  • All customer service duties as necessary.
  • Pick up and delivery of vehicles.
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety.
  • Use hand tools and power tools as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and lubrication.
  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts using jacks or hoists.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
