Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Canada Inc. is seeking entry-level Diesel Technician III candidates to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

You will perform basic repairs under supervision, assist with component replacement, and gain exposure to major maintenance tasks using modern tools and technology. Qualifications

1-2 year's practical experience with vehicle repair or truck repair preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
Must be currently enrolled in an apprentice program.
Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies.
Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required.
Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months of hire.
Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Willingness to travel within the district as necessary.

Responsibilities

Remove, replace or adjust brakes, fifth wheel, minor electrical repairs, cab components and accessories, minor trailer maintenance.
Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained.
Perform other mechanical repairs and replacements under supervision as part of training.
All customer service duties as necessary.
Pick up and delivery of vehicles.
Maintain work area appearance and safety.
Use hand tools and power tools as required.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and lubrication.
Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts using jacks or hoists.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
