Job summary

ManpowerGroup, Inc. is seeking a Licensed 310T Diesel Mechanic in Ottawa, ON to join their client’s team. The role requires a 310T certification and a valid G-class license, with a clean driving history.

The position handles inspection, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for diesel engines and related systems. The work week is Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a hourly wage of $49.40.

Qualifications

• Trade certification as Automotive Service Technician (310T) and ability to inspect, diagnose, repair, and service vehicles.
• Valid Class G Driver's License with clean driving history.
• At least 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing automotive equipment.
• Experience with computerized maintenance systems is preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and independently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet safety, operational, and productivity goals.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs, order parts, document and update work orders, communicate with suppliers and operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and report quality control issues to determine cause and identify repairs or changes to the vehicle warranty.
• Conduct repairs, order and install parts, and inform customers of repair status.
• Maintain parts inventory and purchase parts required for maintenance and repairs.
• Determine if parts can be rebuilt or repaired and returned to active inventory.
• Coordinate administrative requirements for preventative maintenance.
• Provide emergency road service when vehicles break down on route to assess repair feasibility.
• Identify root causes and repair options including parts or methods.
• Arrange for trucks to be picked up through third party vendors.

Our clientis seeking a Licensed 310T Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Ottawa, ON. The ideal candidate will have a 310T License and Class GDriver's License with a clean driving history.

Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Location: 1400 Upper Canada St, Ottawa, ON K2T 045

Shift: Monday to Friday: 2:00PM – 10:30PM (40 hours/week)

Salary: $49.40/hr

Job Description

• Inspect, service, and repair delivery and related vehicles to meet vehicle safety, operational, and productivity goals and standards

• Determines if parts can be rebuilt or repaired and returned to the active inventory.
• Coordinate administrative requirements for preventative maintenance
• Provide emergency road service when vehicles break down on route to assess if the vehicle can be repaired on site
• Identifies root causes and repair options (e.g., location of repair, payment options, parts or other materials required, methods of payment, etc.)
• Arrange for trucks to be picked up through third party vendors (towing companies), etc.).

Qualifications

• Trade certification as an Automotive Service Technician (310T) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and service mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components for cars, buses, and trucks.
• Valid Class GDriver's License (Class Apreferred)
• Ability to work on gasoline and diesel engines as required
• 5 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive equipment.
• Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems & procedures
• Demonstrated ability to work alone in fast paced environment
• A clear driving history and criminal history
