Diesel Mechanic

Location: 1940 Steeles Ave East, Brampton, ON L6T 1A7

Salary: $34.10 per hour, 35 hours per week

Employment: Permanent, full-time

Vacancies: 10

Start date: As soon as possible

Work conditions: On-site, day, evening, weekend, and morning shifts, physically demanding, requires attention to detail, and overtime

Responsibilities

• Instruct apprentices
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
• Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
• Perform general maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication
• Repair heavy trucks and service attachments and tools
• Verify and repair emission control systems

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate
• 1-2 years of experience
• Specializations in diesel engine repair (fuel injection, exhaust, cooling, air conditioning, lubrication, engine control)
• Mechanical and hydraulic transmission repair, suspension, steering, tires, wheels, differentials, brake systems
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks, handle heavy loads, and work extended hours
• Excellent communication and team skills
