Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our dialysis team in Ottawa. You will assist with the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patient status, and document all treatment data under RN supervision.

You will contribute to infection control and quality improvement initiatives while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires a High School diploma, PCT certification, and CPR, with experience in patient-facing care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and operation of dialysis machines.
• Monitor vital signs and weight; document treatment parameters.
• Evaluate vascular access and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record accurate treatment data and ensure proper documentation.
• Observe and respond to intradialytic events; report changes to RN.
• Participate in CQI activities and infection control practices.
