Job summary

Kingston Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Renal Aide PT in Brockville to join the dialysis team for a temporary period of about six months. You will support patient care, help prepare and clean dialysis machines, and assist nursing staff with daily tasks.

The role requires a Secondary School Diploma and preferably a Health Care Aide course; prior health-care experience is an asset. A focus on infection control and patient-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma required.
• Health Care Aide course or equivalent is an asset.
• Previous health care experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of universal precautions; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure the treatment area is clean and orderly.
• Clean the patient environment after dialysis per infection control procedures.
• Dispose of used medical waste and supplies after dialysis.
• Aseptically prepare hemodialysis machines for treatments.
• Assist Nursing staff with patient care and transfers as delegated.
• Answer phone calls and direct messages; assist with dispatching specimens as needed.
