Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Inverness is seeking a Renal Assistant to support the Dialysis unit. Under supervision of the Renal Program Manager and RN, you will set up and dismantle dialysis machines and equipment, stock the unit, and assist with patient transfers and weighing.

Qualifications include Grade 12, dialysis or clinical care experience is an asset, good computer skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Dialysis and clinical/acute care experience asset
• Experience in a computerized environment preferred
• Technical aptitude and mechanical inclination
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Infection Control procedures
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle dialysis machines and equipment to support efficient unit operation.
• Order stock and supplies to adequately stock the unit.
• Assist with patient care activities such as transfers, lifts and weighing patients.
