City of Barrie’s Development Services seeks a qualified civil engineering technologist to support land use and development review, with a strong policy framework and collaboration across departments.
The role requires a three-year college diploma in a related technology, a valid G driver's licence, and at least three years of relevant experience; proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and MS Office is expected.
Salary Range: $66,393.60 to $79,570.40 per year
Development Services is comprised of several branches. The Department’s mission is to guide the growth and development of Barrie toward a vibrant, livable and resilient community through a strong policy framework for land use decision-making and development review services.The branches work collaboratively to implement provincial policies, address corporate strategic objectives, and apply best practices in land use planning, development review, technical design review, and active transportation implementation. Together, they help guide development and growth with the full support of professional, technical and administrative staff.Feedback and interaction with a variety of other Departments across the organization, as well as input received through public consultation, are key to advancing Council and corporate directions, many of which are initiated and implemented through the development process.

The normal hours of work are 35hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement
