We are seeking a Development Coordinator to join our real estate development team.
Reporting to the Development Manager and working closely with both the Development Manager and VP Development on a day-to-day basis, this is a hands-on, career-building role offering direct exposure to a diverse portfolio of active development projects.
Our projects span new community development, multifamily development, commercial redevelopment, interior renovations, and construction. The successful candidate will have a front-row seat to the development process, from early-stage planning and design through municipal approvals, construction, and project completion.
This role is designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in real estate development. As you gain experience and demonstrate the ability to take on greater project responsibility, the intended career path is to progress from Development Coordinator to Senior Development Coordinator and ultimately Development Manager.
This is not a traditional administrative coordinator position. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, proactive, and eager to learn, with drafting/design capabilities and practical knowledge of interior design and construction.
You are organized, dependable, curious, and proactive. You pay close attention to detail, follow through on commitments, and are comfortable following up with others to make sure things get done.
You enjoy variety and are comfortable switching between tasks. On any given day, you might be updating a site plan, coordinating a consultant meeting, taking meeting notes, reviewing drawings, following up with a contractor, researching a development issue, or visiting an active construction site.
Most importantly, you are ambitious and eager to grow. You want to understand the entire development process, gradually take ownership of projects, and build toward managing development projects of your own.
This position is intended to be a career-building opportunity, not simply a coordinator role.
You will work directly alongside the Development Manager and VP Development, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship while being involved in real projects and day-to-day development decisions.
You will gain exposure across the full development lifecycle — from site planning, feasibility and due diligence through land use and municipal approvals, detailed design, subdivision, servicing, construction, occupancy, and project completion.
With projects spanning new communities, multifamily development, commercial redevelopment, interior renovations, and construction, you will develop a broad skill set across different asset classes and stages of development.
As your knowledge, judgment, and project management capabilities develop, you will be expected to take on increasing ownership of projects and responsibilities, with an intended progression to Senior Development Coordinator and ultimately Development Manager.
For someone with a drafting, architectural, interior design, construction, and planning background who wants to build a career in real estate development, this role offers the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and develop into a well-rounded development professional.
