Job summary

Java Holdings Ltd. is seeking a motivated mid-level Software Developer to join our growing software team in the Edmonton or Calgary area.

You will deliver features end-to-end using React for front-end and C#/.NET for back-end, build RESTful APIs, and work with SQL Server and PostgreSQL. 3–5 years of professional experience required; travel may be required for site visits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Java Holdings Ltd. owns a portfolio of companies and provides high-level execution support for large utility, oil and gas, and power generation projects, with a focus on EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Management) services. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Developer to join our growing software development team in the Edmonton or Calgary area. In this role, you will independently deliver high-quality software features, support production systems, and help configure business-critical workflows and integrations. You will work within established architecture and engineering standards while contributing practical ideas to improve quality, reliability, and team effectiveness. This position is designed for a mid-level developer with 3-5 years of professional experience who is comfortable taking ownership of assigned work, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders, and escalating risks or design gaps when needed.

What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver assigned front-end components, back-end services, APIs, and application features
• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code in accordance with team standards and established architectural patterns
• Create and maintain automated tests to support solution quality and reliable releases
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, production issues, and application performance concerns
• Participate in peer code reviews, sprint planning, refinement, testing, and release activities
• Work with React, C#/.NET, RESTful APIs, Entity Framework Core, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
• Configure internal and external systems to meet documented project requirements, including complex business rules and digital quality documentation
• Configure integrations using approved tools, patterns, and standards, and escalate gaps or new integration needs to senior technical resources
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, identify implementation considerations, and support User Acceptance Testing
• Maintain technical documentation and provide system training or user guidance when required

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience

• Experience in construction, infrastructure, electrical utility, oil and gas, or power generation environments
• Experience with SharePoint 2019 or later, document control systems, mobile workflows, GIS, scheduling, or material management solutions
