Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta (Enterprise Development Solutions) is seeking a Software Developer for a 12-month contract.

You will customize ERP systems, develop apps, test, and deploy updates across development and test environments, while contributing to AI-assisted tooling initiatives. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in software development, a degree in computer tech, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and hands-on experience with C#, .NET, SQL Server, Git, Azure

• 3+ years of progressive experience in software development or a related field.
• Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology or a related discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Customizing ERP systems using ERP platform development tools.
• Creating and executing automated tests and performing developer testing before deployment.
• Managing and supporting build creation and update deployment to development and test environments.
• Developing, troubleshooting, and enhancing custom-built applications.
• Responding to tier-three requests for technical support.
• Following established processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving application defects and issues.
• Maintaining and performing technology upgrades on ERP system customizations and on custom-built applications.
• Incorporating AI agents and/or tools to assist with work assignments.
• Breaking down solution designs into development tasks and estimating effort.

• Experience with SQL Server databases and Transact-SQL.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Git, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, Visual Studio Code, or similar development tools.
• Understanding of software design patterns, AI-assisted development, Mobile Development, CI/CD automation, application architecture, and API-based development.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, XP, and Agile.
• Ability to learn business processes and recommend technical solutions.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Security and reliability-first mindset.
• Customization experience using X++ for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operationsor other ERP systems is considered a significant asset.
