Job summary

Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
• Accounting experience in transportation/ construction industry is an asset.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ability to multitask, problem solve and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations preferred.
• High degree of personal organization, including scheduling and prioritizing work tasks to meet deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Comfort working with spreadsheets and strong understanding of math and numbers.
• Proficient in bookkeeping software, experience in Great Plains Software is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify problems and take initiatives to implement workable solutions.
• Eager to learn and grow within and out of the position.
• Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Perform Vendor Set Up and manage credit applications.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets to support strategic planning.
• Pull and process AP batches, Wires, Cheques, EFT.
• Utilize accounting software such as Great Plains and Microsoft dynamics for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
• Generate invoices and billing to the customers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting corporate finance.
• Perform account reconciliation of G/L accounts.
• Manage bank deposits, leases and fuel transactions.
• Fill out tax forms and work with accountants to ensure compliance.
• Other duties as required by Triple Eight Transport Inc.
• Code and enter invoices, ensuring accuracy along with collection of approvals and matching supporting documents.
