Job summary

EllisDon Corporation is seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams through pursuit, design development, and construction support. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between the owner, consultants, and trade partners, ensuring the design is coordinated, compliant, and aligned with budget, schedule, and quality objectives.

You will drive design development, manage risks, and lead submissions for RFPs, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and constructability across

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of Design Management experience, including experience with alternative delivery models.
• Strong working knowledge of construction scopes, scheduling, project management and contract software (e.g., design-related tools).
• Ability to mentor and delegate to a large team while maintaining client relations.
• Understanding of design risk management, constructability and value engineering principles.
• Experience delivering projects in regulated or security-sensitive environments is an asset; security clearance eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pursuit and Proposal Development Phase: manage design build proposals and alternative delivery pursuits.
• Lead design team to produce compliant, cost-effective solutions and coordinate all disciplines.
• Develop strategy to win opportunities and manage design risks throughout pursuit and project execution.
• Coordinate documentation to support estimating and cost, including technical submissions and narratives.
• Lead value engineering and design optimization to align with budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations and trade partners for practical, constructible designs.
