Role: Design Consultant

Location: Mississauga & Etobicoke, Ontario

What we offer

A unique role that blends design, homeowner experience and operations. You will guide homeowners through Multi-Storey and Modular design appointments while working with cross-functional teams to support project readiness, design offerings and the successful delivery of upcoming communities.

This role will be based out of our Mississauga office with regular travel to our Etobicoke office.

What you’ll do

Design Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments with homeowners using our online scheduling tools

• Meet performance expectations for timely file completion, sales revenue, and customer satisfaction.

• Ability to conduct effective in-person and virtual appointments in the design studio

• Confirm and prepare information including floor plans, cabinet 3Ds, agreement of purchase and sale in the customer file and make available to homeowner at their appointment

• Review floor plans for included and optional choices with homeowners

• Communicate features, advantages and benefits associated with various options and identify opportunities to sell options through effective questioning and listening skills

• Communicate/verify options and pricing with Design Manager (when necessary)

• Prepare all final documentation including work orders, colour charts, waivers, amendments and final sketches. Ensure paperwork is accurate, clear and distribute digitally in a timely manner.

• Attend Design Studio meetings and project specific meetings to stay current on operations, product knowledge, and design studio policies; including supplier training and site visits

• Complete all touch points with homeowners (video messaging, post cards, closing calls, reminder calls/emails)

• Attend homeowner and internal events associated with Multi-Storey and Modular

Operations Responsibilities

• Aligning with cross-functional teams prior to project launch on the specific needs in terms of product mix by category

• Review post-mortem of projects across all categories including what worked/what didn’t work, main reason and realign on next project strategy

• Work with homeowners to make re-selections for discontinued materials & products in a timeline that assists progress of the construction team and their expectations

• Attend all required meetings with Project Managers, Data Management and Sales and Marketing on individual projects and complete up to date project status documentation

• Assist merchandising team as needed
  

What you bring

• Post-Secondary Education in Interior Design and/or Architectural Technology

• Experience in residential construction, with a strong understanding of high-rise and mid-rise residential developments

• Superior customer service (CS) background with prior experience in a customer service or retail role is required

• Must be able to read and interpret floorplans or architectural drawings

• Demonstrated ability to utilize strong selling skills to achieve optimal sales results while balancing customer requirements (budget, taste, etc.)

• Ability to articulate and present design options and selections in an engaging and informative manner.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines.

• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written; especially good listening skills are critical for this role

• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Collaborative approach working with internal departments.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PP, Excel, Word

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines

• Flexability to work evenings and weekends, as needed

• Ability to be creative, take initiative and provide new implementation and processes
  

Bonus points

• Previous experience in a sales-focused environment

• Bilingual in one or more additional languages

• Experience using JD Edwards, Calendly, DocuSign, and AI-powered tools
  

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
