Design Consultants work with customers to help plan and design their spaces. Through elevated designs and delivering the CB2 Experience (Be Positive. Inspiring. Finding a way), the Design Consultant will maximize sales growth and profitability. Their expertise, teamwork, passion for design, use of design tools, and creative selling skills will help deliver an exceptional customer experience.

A day in the life as a Design Consultant...

• Drive sales and create a differentiated experience by engaging customers with enriched interactions and offering elevated design solutions both in-store and virtually.
• Create elevated CB2 designs for customers using preferred design tools to develop moodboards, 2D floor plans, product lists, and style inspiration.
• Lead one-on-one design consultations in person or virtually, delivering projects within set timelines.
• Understand and embody the CB2 brand aesthetics and merchandising strategies across channels—Store, Online, Catalog.
• Meet individual sales, KPI, and service goals, and demonstrate our four steps of selling as guided by the store manager.
• Stay informed about marketplace and industry trends.
• Actively listen to customers to identify their needs and communicate company loyalty services, such as designer rewards, Design Trade Program, CB2 credit card, and gift registry.
• Support and model excellent service with a positive attitude and enthusiasm, ensuring all customers receive gracious, efficient service both in-store and virtually.

What You’ll Bring To The Table...

• Basic understanding of design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
• Effective communication skills and ability to translate the CB2 brand vision and customer needs.
• Strong affinity for technology, including 2D and 3D tools, Google Suite, and video conferencing; proficient in floor planning.
• Ability to stay updated on current design trends.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture sales, home decor design, or retail/customer service.
• Full-time roles: Open availability for flexible hours including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Part-time roles: Availability for two or more weekend days and at least one weekday or evening.

Minimum starting rate: $18.40 hourly. Up to $23.00 hourly. Pay may be adjusted upward to comply with local laws. Additional compensation may include bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentives.
