Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience and ability to read and prepare diagrams and wiring plans.
  • Willingness for short-term and long-term assignments at client sites across Canada.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications.
  • Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations.
  • Advanced English to collaborate with offices/clients outside Québec.
  • Ability to draft technical documents in English and French.
  • Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME and EMTP-RV software is an asset.
  • Graduate degree (master’s or doctorate) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project execution stages including proposals and analysis studies for industrial power systems.
  • Perform detailed engineering, equipment specifications and site surveys.
  • Engage in site monitoring and commissioning of substation equipment.
  • Prepare plans, lists of materials and cables, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure quality of professional services and maintain client relationships.

Industrial Electrical Engineer - Mining and Metals

By joining our team, you will beasked to contribute to the various stages of project execution, includingproposals, analysis studies for industrial power systems, detailed engineering,equipment specifications, site surveys, site monitoring and commissioning ofsubstation equipment while benefitting from BBA's network of recognized expertswho will support you in carrying out your mandates and in your careerdevelopment.
Among other tasks, you will beexpected to apply established calculation and design methods when preparingplans, lists of materials, lists of cables, technical specifications andestimates. You will also be expected to carry out various project steps atelectrical substations.
Additionally, you will beresponsible for ensuring the quality of professional services and maintainingpositive client relationships.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec

  • Available for short-term assignments (mandatory) and long-term assignments (asset) to client sites across Canada
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications
  • Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations
  • Advanced level of English tocollaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. Thefrequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending onongoing projects
  • Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
  • Asset: Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV)
  • Asset: knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME and EMTP-RV software
  • Asset: graduate degree (master's or doctorate)
