Job summary

Save-On-Foods is hiring a Department Manager, Meat in Squamish, BC. This full-time role requires open availability and leads the department to deliver exceptional customer experiences while upholding health, safety, and food safety standards.

You will manage staff, train and coach team members, review financials, and drive sales growth. The position involves inventory control and working in a fast-paced environment, with physical duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of retail experience required.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department, coaching and mentoring a positive team focused on Always Customer First service.
• Deliver operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engage and retain team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicate key messages and business objectives to team, ensuring alignment with goals.
• Review and analyze financial reports, identify opportunities to improve performance, and present KPIs to management.
• Analyze department business/HR metrics and dashboards.
• Support strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Lead inventory counts and period-end processes, resolve issues.
• Perform all duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing long periods, and working in hot/cold environments.

We are hiring for a Department Manager, Meat at our Save-On-Foods location in Squamish, BC.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.

• Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.

• Engaging andretainingteam members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.

• Communicating key messages and businessobjectivesto team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Reviewing and analyzing financial reports,identifyingopportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.

• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.

• Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.

• Leading inventory counts/periodend of the department and resolving issues asrequired.

• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50lbs), standing forlong periodsof time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in abusiness relatedfield is an asset.
• Experience and/or knowledge with:
  • Achieving sales targets and profitability.
  • Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
  • Human Resources (e.training, development,coachingand mentoring).
  • Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
  • Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Proficiencywith computer applications.
