Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a self-motivated Dental Therapist to deliver prevention, diagnostic, and restorative dental care for treaty and eligible non-treaty clients on reserve.
You’ll promote oral health in schools and communities, coordinate with the band and health partners, and uphold infection control and quality standards while traveling as needed.
We are looking for self-motivated, strong interpersonal, and problem-solving Dental Therapists to help us deliver and promote our Dental care program, so that we can enhance awareness and improve the oral health status of LLRIB.
LLRIBHS promotes dental health services and dental health education to all LLRIB community members. We work closely with the schools and other health organizations. Together with others, we work to build capacity and educate as we both address acute needs and the determinants of health.
The Dental Therapist will provide prevention services, diagnostic treatment planning and restorative dental treatment for all treaty clients and for those non-treaty clients living on reserve. They will also provide disease prevention and oral health promotion activities in schools and communities within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band Reserves.
Suitable candidates must have a Diploma in Dental Therapy, in good standing and registered with the Saskatchewan Dental Therapist Association; Ability to speak / understand Cree is an asset; experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Self-motivated and able to work independently; Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, public relations and problem-solving skills is an asset; Demonstrate ability to prepare written reports; Candidates must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel.
