Job summary

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Dental Therapy Program within Lac La Ronge School settings. You will assist the Dental Therapist/Dentist during procedures and deliver dental care and education to children.

Responsibilities include fluoride treatments, oral hygiene instruction, appointment coordination, records documentation and infection control. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; travel and a valid Saskatchewan drivers license

Qualifications

  • Certified in Dental Assisting and registered (or eligible for registration) with Saskatchewan Dental Assistants Association.
  • Strong organization skills & able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
  • Intermediate computer skills & experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication & public relations skills.
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license & able to travel when required.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
  • Ability to speak Cree is a definite asset.

We are looking for a self-motivated Dental Assistant with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills to help deliver and promote our Dental Care Program. By providing dental services and dental health education to children enrolled in the Lac La Ronge Indian Bands Dental Therapy Program.

About the Organization

LLRIBHS promotes Dental Health services and Dental Health education to all community members of LLRIB. We work closely with the schools and other health organizations. Together with others, we work to build capacity and educate as we both address acute needs and the determinants of health.

About the position

Working within the Lac La Ronge Indian Band Schools you will prepare and assist the Dental Therapist / Dentist during dental procedures.
