Job summary

Westport Dental in Port Moody, BC is hiring a Dental Assistant to join our modern practice delivering general dentistry, hygiene, and cosmetic care with a patient-first approach.

The successful candidate will be registered and/or certified, with experience preferred, and will support dentists and hygienists, prepare rooms, take X-rays, sterilize instruments, and maintain high safety standards in a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body or association is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

About You:

Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required

Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
