Job summary

Orléans Queensway Dental in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our modern, patient‑focused practice. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, and take dental X‑rays to support efficient patient care.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered or certified as a Dental Assistant with a provincial regulatory body.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments and maintain patient comfort.
  • Take dental X‑rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and educate on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high‑quality care.
  • Follow privacy, safety and regulatory guidelines.

Schedule:

Monday: 8.00am - 4.00pm


Tuesday: 8.00am - 4.00pm


Thursday: 8.00am - 4.00pm


Friday: 8.00am - 4.00pm

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $28-$35/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:


  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment

  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow

  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required

  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards

  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care

  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks

  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care

  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines

  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour


About You:


  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required

  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
