Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the Regional Dementia Care program (Oak Lodge, Sudbury). The role focuses on assessment and treatment of older adults with dementia and related behavioural symptoms within an interdisciplinary team.

Candidates should have a current nursing registration in Ontario, BLS within 12 months, and a commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certificate within the last twelve months.
• Experience with older adults showing responsive behaviours and trauma-informed care principles.
• Knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders, relevant pharmacotherapy and best practices for this population.
• Familiarity with PHIPA, Mental Health Act and Regulated Health Professionals Act.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment and contribute to a safety culture.
• Commitment to continuing education and quality improvement.
• Willingness to work shifts in other programs as required.
