Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a qualified registered nurse to join the Regional Dementia Care Services - Oak Lodge, delivering advanced assessment and management for older adults with dementia.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, trauma-informed care, and adherence to privacy and safety standards, with opportunities to apply Montessori and PIECES approaches.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) required (recent within the last twelve months)
• Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate required
• Practical knowledge and understanding of Dementia including best practices for assessment and management of responsive behaviours
• Montessori Methods for Dementia and PIECES an asset
• Experience working with older adults demonstrating responsive behaviours including evidence of creative application of Personhood
• Knowledge of relevant acts and regulations e.g. PHIPA, Substitute Decision Makers, Controlled Acts, etc.
