Job summary

Delta Hotels Dartmouth by Marriott is seeking a dedicated Night Auditor to oversee overnight hotel operations and perform daily accounting tasks. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, handle front desk responsibilities, and assist guests with inquiries in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in front-line customer service, familiarity with Opera PMS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a front-line customer service environment.
  • Hospitality industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and cash handling skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Opera PMS and basic Excel/Word is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Night Audit operations and ensure accurate daily financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with departments to deliver high-level guest service.
  • Register arrivals and departures, handle cash and card transactions, and balance daily postings.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports for multiple departments; close the day accurately and on time.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues in line with brand standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and protect company assets.

Job Description

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Night Auditor will oversee hotel operations during overnight hours, providing exceptional guest service, completing front desk duties and performing daily accounting and audit procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

What you will be doing as a Night Audit:
  • Lead Audit Operations on a daily basis;
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional service;
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets;
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Desk;
  • Register arriving guests / process guest departures;
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions;
  • Answer guest inquiries in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Create accurate reservations;
  • Handle guest requests and complaints according to brand standards;
  • Lead First Response in emergency situations; fire, power outage, flood, bomb threat;
  • Investigate and resolve out of balance accounts;
  • Completion of close day process accurately and on time including;
  • Balance front office and food & beverage daily postings;
  • Daily cash deposits;
  • Uphold Delta / Marriott brand standards;
  • Clear and concise communication with colleagues, and Managers;
  • Preparing and distributing daily reports for various departments;
  • Develop strong working relationship with Guest Services Manager and Hotel Controller;
  • Such other related duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time.
Your experience and skills include:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a front-line customer service environment;
  • Has previous Guest Service/Night Audit experience an asset;
  • A Tourism & Hospitality Diploma or Business Administration Diploma is considered an asset;
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Opera (property management system);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work with limited supervision;
  • Has a positive attitude with a passion for delivering the highest level of customer service;
  • Motivated, high performance team player;
  • Organized with great attention to detail;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Ability to excel in a face paced environment;
  • Must possess critical thinking skills to resolve and defuse guest concerns and ensure the appropriate follow up tactfully and quickly;
  • Outstanding guest service skills;
  • Has a positive attitude with a passion for delivering the highest level of customer service.
