Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and route product deliveries.
  • Ensure loads stay within vehicle weight limits.
  • Assign appropriate delivery vehicles for job sites.
  • Route vehicles to service facilities for repairs as needed.
  • Update customers on delivery status and timelines.
  • Ensure OSHA and federal road procedures are followed.
  • Assist in hiring drivers and material handlers, plus performance management.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance and ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Schedule training for drivers and ensure certifications are current.

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Delivery Services Manager schedules and routes product deliveries, coordinates fleet maintenance, updates customers on delivery statuses, and ensures safety and compliance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESScheduling and routing product deliveriesMaking sure trucks are not overloaded and that all loads fall within standard weight limits for each vehicleAssessing job site delivery requirements and assigning appropriate delivery vehiclesResolving all vehicle safety issues by routing vehicles to the appropriate service facilities for needed repairsKeeping customers informed of delivery statusEnsuring that all OSHA and federal road procedures are followedParticipating in the hiring of drivers and material handlers, as well as their performance managementCoordinating fleet maintenance and ensuring all repairs are completed properlyScheduling new equipment training for drivers and ensuring they are fully certified to operate the equipmentEnsuring that all drivers’ certification and licenses are current and informing drivers when their licenses or medical cards need to be updatedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven leadership experienceProficient in Microsoft Office and data entryAbility to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple service needs simultaneouslyPrevious dispatch experience is preferredMechanical knowledge is a plusTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
