Job summary

Riverside Millwork Group is seeking a Delivery Driver to load and unload interior building materials and drive vans/light trucks to delivery sites. You will follow safety rules and complete required logs and paperwork.

The role requires a valid G-class license, reliable performance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining customer service standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • WHMIS and HSAT training preferred.
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License and clean driving abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive vans and light trucks to deliver interior building materials such as doors, trim, and hardware.
  • Compliance with traffic laws, Riverside policies, Health & Safety Program, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections.
  • Drive to and from delivery destinations via established routes.
  • Ensure correct loading of vehicle; check load-related documentation for accuracy.
  • Unload materials at delivery sites per shipping details or as directed by supervisors or customers.
  • Deliver materials and paperwork to customers safely, courteously, and on time.
  • Record pick-ups, deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and problems encountered.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service/repair status.
  • Complete daily logs, inspection logs, receipts, and repairs following regulations.
  • Perform periodic inspections to ensure load security.
  • Protect materials from outdoor elements and prevent damage.
  • Provide feedback to supervision on problems.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage.
  • Represent the company professionally.

Job description

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Delivery Driver is responsible for performing tasks involving physical labour to load material/products onto the delivery trucks and unload materials/products at delivery sites as directed to ensure that shipping details and deadlines are met. The Delivery Driver is accountable for conducting work in a safe manner and in compliance with Company procedures, policies, and any applicable legislation including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate and drive vans and light trucks to deliver interior building materials such as doors, trim, and hardware.
  • Compliance with all traffic laws and regulations, Riverside policies, Health & Safety Program, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections.
  • Drive to and from delivery destinations via established routes.
  • Ensure correct loading of vehicle. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Unload materials/products at delivery sites in keeping with shipping details or as directed by the Shipping Supervisor, Operations Manager, Site Supervisor, or customer.
  • Deliver materials and proper paperwork to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
  • Complete and maintain daily logs, inspection logs, deliver receipts, vehicle inspections, working hours of service, repair status, following applicable and federal regulations.
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
  • Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor element and transported with zero damage.
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner.

Work Environment: Delivery Truck, Construction Sites, Residential Homes, Warehouse.

Tools: Dollies, pallet trucks, lifts, slings, cell phone.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Health & Safety Courses/Training: WHMIS and Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT)
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License and a clean drivers abstract.
Experience:
  • 2+ years’ delivery driver / mover experience is preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or general labour experience is preferred.
