Job summary

Freybe Gourmet Foods is seeking a reliable Delivery / Merchandiser to join our Sales Team and bring premium European-style meats and gourmet foods to customers across the Lower Mainland. You will handle delivery, merchandising, and customer service, while upholding food safety standards and building strong relationships with clients.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to work independently, and excellent time management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Delivery: Organize and load customer orders into delivery vehicles safely using pallet jacks and manual lifting; deliver on schedule while ensuring food safety and quality; unload at customer locations and confirm receipt; communicate food safety or quality concerns to management.
• Merchandising & Customer Service: Unpack and merchandise products per standards; restock shelves and display cases with proper stock rotation; monitor freshness and best-before dates; maintain attractive displays and provide outstanding service to customers.
• Communication & Teamwork: Work with Territory Sales Managers to support customer needs; maintain clear communication and share market information; assist with team projects and process improvements.
• Food Safety & Quality: Follow HACCP and SQF requirements; participate in food safety training and compliance initiatives.
• Health & Safety: Follow safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations; report safety concerns promptly; participate in health and safety training.

We are currently seeking a reliable, customer-focused, and energeticDelivery / Merchandiser to join our Sales Team and help bring our products to customers throughout the Lower Mainland.

What You'll Do

Delivery (60%)

• Organize and load customer orders into company delivery vehicles using pallet jacks, dollies, and manual lifting techniques.
• Safely operate Freybe delivery vehicles and perform daily vehicle inspections.
• Deliver products accurately and on schedule while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
• Unload products at customer locations and ensure deliveries are received properly.
• Communicate any food safety or quality concerns to management promptly.

Merchandising & Customer Service (20%)

• Unpack and merchandise products according to company standards.
• Restock shelves and display cases while ensuring proper stock rotation.
• Monitor product freshness and best-before dates.
• Maintain attractive product displays and ensure quality standards are met.
• Build positive relationships with customers and provide outstanding service.

Communication & Teamwork (10%)

• Work closely with Territory Sales Managers to support customer needs.
• Maintain effective communication and share relevant market information.
• Assist with team projects and recommend process improvements.

Food Safety & Quality (5%)

• Follow all HACCP and SQF requirements and procedures.
• Participate in food safety training and support compliance initiatives.

Health & Safety (5%)

• Follow all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Report safety concerns, incidents, and injuries promptly.
• Participate in ongoing health and safety training.

What You Bring

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract and excellent driving habits.
• Experience driving delivery vehicles and knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems on the go.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 15 kg (33 lbs) regularly and work in and out of delivery vehicles throughout the day.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
• Knowledge of grocery, food service, or merchandising operations is considered an asset.
