Slegg Building Materials in Langford, BC is seeking a Delivery Helper to support the safe transport and placement of building materials on customer sites. Shifts are Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3pm, with an hourly wage of $22–$25 and a per-unit delivery bonus up to $3.

You will work with the team to ensure on-time deliveries, maintain safety standards, and assist with loading/unloading and site communication. This role offers growth opportunities within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Strong communication skills for on-site coordination with customers, coworkers and trades.
• Basic math ability for measurements and calculations on-site.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools and assist with material handling.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing safety.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain safety, service and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and help resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Delivery Helper. The Delivery Helper assists with the safe transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Helper works to exceed customer expectations. The shifts are Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3pm. The wage range for this position is $22 - $25 per hour, plus up to $3 per unit delivery bonus.

Basic Requirements

• A valid driver’s license with a cleandriver's abstractis an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
• Sitting for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
