Job summary

Slegg Building Materials on Vancouver Island is seeking a Delivery Helper - Drywall to assist with the safe transportation and placement of drywall orders on customer job sites. The role may backfill Forklift Operator duties as needed. Shifts are Monday to Friday with a wage range of $22-$25 per hour plus piecework.

You will work with dispatch and warehouse staff to ensure load security, accuracy, and customer satisfaction, while maintaining safety and professionalism on every site.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract is an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area while prioritizing safety.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and trades on job sites.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Delivery Helper - Drywall. The Delivery Helper assists with the safe transportation of drywall orders and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Helper works to exceed customer expectations. This position will also backfill Forklift Operator duties as needed. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $22-$25 per hour plus piecework.
