GMS Canada, including Slegg Building Materials on Vancouver Island, seeks a Delivery Helper - Drywall to support safe material transport and on-site placement for customer projects. The role may backfill Forklift Operator duties, with Monday–Friday shifts and a wage range of $22-$25 per hour plus piecework.

Responsibilities emphasize safety, professional communication, load accuracy, and teamwork with dispatch and warehouse staff to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Delivery Helper - Drywall. The Delivery Helper assists with the safe transportation of drywall orders and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Helper works to exceed customer expectations. This position will also backfill Forklift Operator duties as needed. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $22-$25 per hour plus piecework.

Basic Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
• Sitting for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
