Sensity is a not-for-profit organization serving the deafblind community in Canada. We are hiring an Intervenor to support communication and daily living for individuals with dual sensory impairment in Oro-Medonte, ON.

The role offers full-time shifts (days, afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends) and a competitive wage starting at $24.31/hour. Benefits include health spending account and RRSP matching, with opportunities for professional development and conferences.

Qualifications

• College diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or related human services field.
• Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
• ASL or Signed Exact English communication.
• Valid driver’s license Class G and ability to obtain auto insurance.

Responsabilités

• Support individuals in home and community environments.
• Relay information using appropriate communication techniques.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal prep, house cleaning, and volunteerism.
• Provide personal care as required (transfers, toileting, hygiene, medication administration).
• Help develop and support individual goals and program objectives.
• Assist with program development and documentation/records.
