Job summary

A leading not-for-profit organization in Ontario is seeking an Intervenor to support individuals with dual sensory impairment. This role involves assisting with communication, daily living activities, and providing personal care. Candidates must have a relevant diploma and experience with developmental disabilities. A valid driver's license and good communication skills, including American Sign Language, are essential. The position offers a competitive wage and opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a college diploma in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons, DSW, SSW, CSW, CDA, PSW, or related field.
  • Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
  • Valid driver's license (Class G) and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Support communication and daily living for individuals with dual sensory impairment.
  • Assist with personal hygiene and meal preparation.
  • Provide personal care as required, including medication administration.

Skills

Communication in American Sign Language (ASL)
Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities
Excellent communication skills in English

Education

Completion of a college diploma or certificate in a relevant program
