Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Analyst/Engineer/Application DBA.
• Strong understanding of data encryption impacts and Agile methodologies.

The Team

Contributes to the success of the Core Banking Engineering Database Services – SQL Server & Cloud Engineering Team in Canada by executing and delivering specific goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team's business strategies. Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Database Services manage, maintain, and optimize critical enterprise database systems for various banking and technology divisions, providing 24/7 support for both cloud and on-premise databases.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Promote a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships and systems.
• Design, develop, and test enhancements supporting MS SQL, Azure SQL DB, and Azure MI database systems.
• Provide technical analyses and recommendations for new and existing solutions.
• Translate metadata and requirements into database designs, ensuring optimal performance.
• Develop DDL/DML scripts and enhance database performance.
• Provide 24x7 pager support on a rotating basis.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Possess strong technical presentation and communication skills.
• Stay updated with technological innovations.
• Be accountable for assigned tasks and projects.
• Prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities.
• Contribute to operational excellence, compliance, and risk management, aligning with the Bank's values and conduct standards.

Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting MS SQL, Azure SQL DB, Azure MI, CloudSQL as a Database Analyst/Engineer/Application DBA.
• Experience working with remote teams.
• Experience with ETL solutions like SSIS or Data Factory is an asset.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of source code management using Git or TFVC, and tools like Bitbucket and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding data encryption impacts, including Always Encrypted and Tokenization.
