A leading college in Ontario is seeking a Database Administrator to design and maintain databases in a hybrid environment. This role requires a strong background in database management and specific experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have analytical skills and a collaborative spirit, supporting both administrative and academic systems.
The Database Administrator is a highly skilled member of an enterprise database and system administration (DBA) team, who design, implement, maintain and support Sheridan’s administrative and academic databases as well as the application system environment. The incumbent installs, maintains, upgrades and supports Sheridan’s many database and application server environments and addresses requirements for database and application efficiency, security issues and performance issues.
Sheridan’s ERP applications are running on PeopleSoft in a four-tier architecture. The main database platforms supported are Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
