Job description

We are seeking a skilled Consultant, Database Management, to provide expert support and management for our Oracle and Azure SQL databases . In this role, you will ensure optimal database performance, troubleshoot issues, and assist in database development, including stored procedures, data migration, and SQL query optimization. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for both production and non-production databases, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide production application support for Oracle and Azure SQL databases , including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure scalability and optimal database performance.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain stored procedures, SQL queries, and data load / migration scripts .
• Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues and improve efficiency.
• Perform database monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning .
• Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices in both production and non-production environments .
• Assist in database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
• Document database processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Qualifications :

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle and Azure SQL database administration and development .
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting .
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and complex SQL queries .
• Experience with data migration, ETL processes, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.) .
• Knowledge of database security, backup / recovery, and high-availability solutions .
• Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree / University degree or equivalent experience.
