ICBC is seeking a Data Scientist I in North Vancouver to support the Road Safety Data Services team. You will develop advanced analytics across mobility, transportation and road safety, leveraging diverse data sources to identify trends and inform strategy.
You will lead analytical projects, apply statistical and geospatial methods, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate insights into actionable recommendations. Strong SQL, Python/R and GIS skills are essential in this hybrid role.

Salary Range: $100572.00 - $142494.00 Annually

Position Highlights
We currently have an opportunity for a Data Scientist I, Mobility Insights & Transportation Analytics to join the Road Safety Data Services team. Road Safety Data Services supports evidence-based decision-making through advanced analytics, road safety intelligence, transportation and mobility insights, and performance measurement that help improve road safety outcomes across British Columbia.
In this role, you will develop advanced analytical capabilities that support transportation, mobility, and road safety decision-making across ICBC and its partners. You will leverage a variety of data sources to identify trends, evaluate initiatives, uncover emerging risks, and develop analytical products that inform strategy and business decisions.
As a senior analytical resource, you will provide technical leadership, influence analytical direction, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights that support safer and more sustainable mobility outcomes.
What You Will Do
Position Requirements
An undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Geography, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, Economics or another related quantitative discipline, together with significant experience applying advanced analytics, transportation or mobility analytics, research or data science techniques to complex business, operational or public-sector challenges. Experience with transportation, traffic, road safety, geospatial, mobility, telematics or infrastructure-related datasets is a strong asset. Graduate education is also considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
