Job summary

Canadian Natural is seeking a student intern to join the Control Systems team in Calgary. You will dive into data science and industrial operations, designing forecasting models and building dashboards to inform operations decisions throughout an 8-month term starting May 2027.

You must be enrolled in an Engineering degree, have formal data science training, and pass a pre-employment drug test. Relocation support and volunteer opportunities are available as part of our student program.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Engineering.
• Proven completion of formal training related to data science.
• A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Model Development: design forecasting models using ML to predict trends.
• Data Workflow Management: orchestrate data processing workflows (Prefect).
• Data Visualization: build dashboards with Plotly Dash/Power BI for stakeholders.
• Data Quality Assurance: clean and preprocess data, handle anomalies and missing values.
• Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support ops improvements.
