Job summary

IMP Aerospace & Defence is seeking a meticulous Configuration and Data Management Specialist to ensure configuration data integrity and support engineering and related departments. The role encompasses planning, identification, control, status accounting, and audits of configuration items.

You will implement change control processes, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to optimize CM workflows.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma and two years post-secondary technical training.
  • Hands-on experience in a related technical field; aircraft configuration control preferred.
  • Experience in database development/management.
  • Strong technical writing skills and solid technical background.
  • Thorough knowledge of Engineering Administrative procedures and drawing standards.
  • CGP/ITAR and security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform configuration management activities, including planning, identification, control, status accounting, and audits.
  • Maintain accuracy of configuration data with documented records for all items.
  • Manage change control processes and ensure changes are properly evaluated, approved, and implemented.
  • Provide detailed reporting on configuration items, status, and changes.
  • Conduct configuration management audits and identify process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to implement the CM plan.
  • Maintain and update CM tools and systems to ensure effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present CM activity reports and change logs.

Position Overview

IMP is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Configuration and Data Management Specialist to carry out configuration and data management processes. The Configuration and Data Management Specialist will ensure the integrity and accuracy of configuration data, supporting the engineering department and other departments as required.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate and manage all configuration management activities, conduct planning, identification, control, status accounting, and audit.
  • Ensure the integrity of configuration data by maintaining accurate records and documentation of all configuration items.
  • Implementation and management of change control processes to ensure that all changes to configuration items are properly documented, evaluated, approved, and implemented.
  • Provide accurate accounting of configuration item status and configuration change documentation.
  • Conduct configuration management audits to verify compliance with the configuration management plan and identify areas for improvement.
  • Interact with various teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to ensure proper implementation of the configuration management plan.
  • Maintain and manage tools and systems used for configuration management, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Preparation and presentation of detailed reports on configuration management activities, including status updates, change logs, and audit findings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in configuration management.
What You Will Bring
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent and two years post-secondary training in a technical field.
  • Hands on experience in a related technical field. Experience in aircraft configuration control and technical data is preferred.
  • Experience in database development/management.
  • Experience in aircraft configuration control anf technical data is preferred.
  • Technical writing skills and experience, combined with a solid technical background.
  • Thorough knowledge of Engineering Administrative procedures and standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of configuration control and drawing standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self motivated and efficient
  • Ability to work with and motivate others

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
