Job summary

IMP Aerospace & Defence is seeking a Material Planning professional to join a project team in Canada. You will actively manage and resolve material issues by collaborating with stores, warehouse, shipping/receiving and Purchasing.

The role requires reviewing and prioritizing material supply needs, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely material support to maintain aircraft schedules.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably in the aircraft industry.
  • College Diploma in business-related studies or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in MS Office and ERP systems (JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CFSS/DRMIS is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and customer service skills.
  • Strong influencing and teamwork skills.
  • Good oral and written communications.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001.2015 and AS9100 quality environments.
  • Familiarity with ITAR is an asset.
  • Able to meet CGP/ITAR clearance requirements. (Shift Work possibility)

Responsibilities

  • Review and prioritize material supply requirements and monitor demands that may impact aircraft schedule.
  • Work effectively with internal and external customers on material requirements.
  • Collaborate with different material branches to ensure effective material support/delivery.
  • Serve as departmental SME for the project.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure chemical supply to hangars.
  • Work with project manager, Production Control and Planning teams.
  • Lead stocktaking across hangars and communicate major activities to teams.
  • Coordinate with domestic and international customers and CF representatives.
  • Maintain accurate material demand priority reports.
  • Report material performance figures to the project team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Material Planning, Systems & Control the successful candidate will be part of a project team responsible for actively managing and resolving all material related issues for his/her assigned project, through direct interaction with stores, warehouse, shipping/receiving and Purchasing.

What You Will Do
  • In Combination with the project team, review and prioritize all material supply requirements and closely monitor material demands or requirements that may negatively impact an aircraft schedule.
  • Work effectively with internal and external customers on material requirements
  • Collaborate with different material branches to ensure effective material support/delivery
  • Departmental SME for the project
  • Liaise with Vendor to ensure chemical supply to hangars
  • Work in integrated team with project Manager, Production Control, Production, planning, facilities and Engineering
  • Lead /coordinate stock taking across the hangars. C
  • ommunicate major project activities and requirements with supporting Material teams
  • Liaise effectively with domestic and international customers & representatives including DND item Managers, Canadian Forces (CF) base/depot supply personnel, and on-site CF representatives
  • Keep department informed on progress and resource (time, people, parts) issues
  • Maintain accurate material demand priority reports
  • Communicate material performance figures (i.e.: EDD, TAT, etc.) to project team
  • Capture and action Material Lessons Learned from each project.
  • Carry out investigations to determine root causes for repetitive supply problems and initiate/recommend corrective action
  • Follow up and report on subcontract activities
  • Review/Recommend minimum, maximum and reorder inventory levels for unique items
  • Provide advice on interpretation of raw data related to material Demand
  • Convene and attend periodic meetings with appropriate employees, supervisors and management aid in expediting material availability and support
  • Read, understand, comply with and suggest improvements for all material operations company procedures and directives
  • Remain Current on common user application software in support of aircraft supply
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring
  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably in the aircraft industry and in a variety of settings and roles.
  • College Diploma in business related studies, or equivalent in training and experience.
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite of applications and typical company ERP systems (e.g. JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS/DRMIS) is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and customer service skills.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to meet objectives working with colleagues.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Familiarity with the Aerospace supply environment and its major challenges.
  • Familiarity with the ISO9001.2015 and AS9100 quality environments.
  • Familiarity with International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR) is and asset.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances. (Shift Work possibility )
