What You Will Do

This position is responsible for the ongoing review and maintenance of the CAD/AVL and customer information transit application systems. This includes maintaining and transforming transit scheduling datasets for downstream system integration, while optimizing schedules to support operational efficiency. This position also ensures that the CAD/AVL system, VISION, continue to be maintained in the most efficient and economical manner in accordance with the Collective Agreement and Commission policies. What Qualifications Do You Bring?

• Completion of a university degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
• Experience working with a CAD/AVL system as well as with public transit scheduling and computer-related scheduling skills.
• Thorough knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, strong keyboarding skills, and be proficient in the use of a personal computer, computer software and applications related to the work such as scheduling software systems, (e.g. Trapeze FX) Transit stops inventory database management, ArcGIS, SQL, etc. and other office equipment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the Scheduling and Crewing procedures as well as Transit Scheduling Software.
• Computer data entry and database maintenance experience and knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of TTC surface routes and stop information (including an understanding of the subdivision of a route into branches and sub-branches) and the ability to read and correctly interpret route schedules.
• Good knowledge of the City of Toronto’s Street system including the surrounding municipalities.
• Ability to interpret aerial photography, maps, and road construction drawings, as well as sketch stop areas and provide accompanying location sketches.
• Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
