The Data and Analytics Lead bridges the gap between business operations and data architecture by mapping current-state data flows, identifying data quality gaps, and defining future-state data requirements that align with integration strategies and platform modernization objectives. They translate complex data relationships into clear, actionable insights that inform product design, process optimization, and business case development.

This role partners closely with Business Architects, Solution Architects, Integration Leads, Product Owners, and Operations stakeholders to ensure data integrity, analytical rigor, and alignment between domain-specific data needs and enterprise-wide data strategy—enabling confident, data-driven decisions across the transformation.

Benefits To Joining Midland:
  • A dynamic, safe, and rewarding work environment
  • A flexible health, drug, dental, and vision plan
  • RRSP matching program
  • Employee & Family Assistance Programs
  • Health & Wellness reimbursements, includes gym memberships, fitness classes or online workout programs
  • 3 weeks' paid vacation
  • Maternity leave top-up program
  • Growth and progression opportunities within Midland Transport and large network of the JD Irving group of companies
Responsibilities
  • Act as the data and analytics lead for Maintenance, building deep understanding of data across systems and processes.
  • Document and align data flows with transformation goals.
  • Deliver insights and reporting that support decisions, process design, and business cases.
  • Analyze current and future data flows to identify gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with architects and integration leads to ensure accurate data requirements in solution design.
  • Define and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and exception handling.
  • Support data governance, including cataloging, metadata, and master data consistency.
Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering within operational or transformational environments.
  • Applicable degree or relevant experience
  • Proven experience mapping data flows and multi-system environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate operational data into actionable business insights for senior stakeholders.
