Overview

Pay Rate: $29.05 hour, depending on experience. Contract Length: 6 Months. Location: Burnaby, British Columbia.

Raise is hiring a Data Analytics Specialist on behalf of our client. The client is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada and is expanding their team to meet growing needs.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Data Analytics Specialist will be part of the Asset Management (AM) team and play a vital role in enabling data-driven decision-making across our critical infrastructure programs. You will leverage your analytical and data management skills to transform raw data into actionable insights, ensure data quality, and optimize reporting processes. This role directly contributes to the efficiency, reliability, and strategic planning of the organization\'s asset base. The role includes tool testing, field data collection, and training support.

Responsibilities
  • Support the AM team in the development and testing of data collection tools.
  • Support training and data collection initiatives in the field.
  • Analyze large sets of data by applying qualitative or quantitative techniques using advanced skills in MS Excel or a data analysis software to support strategic decision-making.
  • Data entry, data cleaning and analysis required to deliver the AM programs (e.g., building the Asset Tombstone data from completion reports, drawings and O&M Manuals).
  • Maintain clean data by verifying, validating, and filtering data to meet the organization\'s data quality requirements.
  • Optimize the reporting process by developing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that effectively manage information.
  • Provide relevant reports to acquiring manager by researching, developing, and presenting findings and possible options to support management in delivering results within scope, time and budget.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of directly related work experience analyzing large data sets using qualitative or quantitative techniques (Data entry, Data cleaning and Analysis).
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and ESRI tools is considered an asset.
  • Advanced expertise in Excel, Power Pivot and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Education and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of data analysis programs is an asset.
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken.
Additional Information
  • Site visits across BC up to 4 times during the contract for training purposes. Overnight stays may be required; expenses will be paid according to the organization\'s expense policy.
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 10 or 11 laptop for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own smartphone for network access.
