Job summary

Voyageur Aviation Corp. in North Bay, Ontario is seeking a Captain (DASH 8 300) to safely operate the DH8 fleet and support domestic bases across Canada. You will brief crews, maintain flight safety, oversee crew under command, and liaise with dispatch, ATC, and customers from the Pilot-in-Command position.

The role requires 2000 total hours, 1000 multi-PIC hours, and a Dash 8 type-rating is preferred. Canadian work eligibility and a clean background are mandatory. Overnight shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid ATPL.
• Meet minimum 2000 hours total time.
• Meet minimum 1000 hours multi-PIC.
• Minimum 500 hours PIC on turboprop or turbofan aircraft over 12,500 lbs.
• Meet Transport Canada requirements to operate a Dash 8 aircraft.
• Current DH8 type-rating is an asset.
• Previous CARs Subpart 705 airline ops experience is an asset.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willing to work overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the aircraft as Pilot-in-Command.
• Brief crew on planned operation and route.
• Maintain operational control parameters during flights.
• Supervise and delegate duties to crew under command.
• Maintain on-time performance and accomplish flight objectives.
• Liaise with Dispatch, ATC, FSS, and customers.
• Ensure maps, charts, and nav equipment are available.
• Review and complete flight plans and manuals as needed.
• Lead safety briefings and emergency scenario drills.
• Ensure safety and security of crew, aircraft, and cargo.
• Utilize Safety and Risk Management system.
• Comply with company policies, air regs and SOPs.
• Maintain Dash 8 qualifications.
