Placements24 seeks an experienced Livestock Manager to lead a modern dairy operation in Kimberley. You will be responsible for herd health, welfare, and productivity, overseeing feeding, milking, breeding, and health management while collaborating with vets and farm staff in a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in dairy operations, strong leadership, and a deep dairy science background, with a focus on innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing dairy operations with emphasis on herd health.
• Knowledge of dairy cow nutrition, reproduction and disease prevention.
• Experience managing farm personnel and operations efficiently.
• Familiarity with modern dairy farming technologies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily aspects of dairy herd management, including feeding, milking, and health monitoring.
• Implement and manage breeding programs to optimize herd genetics and reproductive efficiency.
• Ensure high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and biosecurity on the farm.
• Monitor herd health, administer treatments, and coordinate with veterinarians for routine and emergency care.
• Manage farm staff, providing training, supervision, and performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of milk production, herd health, breeding, and financial performance.
